Boys and girls entering 4th grade or above and have completed First Communion are invited to participate in the altar server ministry.  .

The altar server program offers many benefit. Servers gain hands-on exposure to and knowledge of the Mass, and learn about the importance of service to others. Altar Servers are called in particular to be young friends of Jesus. (Pope John Paul II)

What do Altar Servers do?

• Assists the priest and deacon in the celebration of the Mass and other liturgies.
• Participate in the Mass as a member of the community by prayer and being attentive.
• Show their love of God and the Faith of their family.

• Must be a member of Holy Redeemer Church.
• Must have received the Sacrament of Reconciliation and First Communion.
• Must be 9 years old or older and complet appropriate paperwork..
• Required to attend altar server training and yearly refreshers.
