History In 2018, the Diocese of Fort Worth established the Guardian Ministry as a parish-based safety and security ministry to address the increasing rise in unprovoked violence against houses of worship. The multi-layered approach of the Guardian Ministry allows each parish to respond effectively to different types of emergencies and support and work alongside first responders.
Purpose As members of the Guardian Ministry, we are welcoming to all parishioners and visitors. We are also helpful, vigilant, willing and able to act during a crisis, and responsive to emergencies together as a group. We effectively create a warm, safe and welcoming environment and are ready to protect and save lives in concert with our first responders.
Mission The Guardian Ministry is a community outreach, medical and security volunteer ministry that provides parishes with a welcoming, peaceful and safe place to worship. Guardians are the first impression of our parish. They look out for each other and our parish community and rely on focused training to respond to various emergencies.
Get Involved We are looking for friendly, outgoing, respectful leaders who are good stewards of our faith and community. We need parishioners who possess the attitude, aptitude, and level headedness needed to make all parishioners feel safe and welcome every day and during a crisis. Volunteers can serve either as a Guardian or as a Medical Team member. If you feel that you are being called to be part of the Guardian Ministry for Holy Redeemer, please contact Henry Mendoza.
Effective Dec. 1st, Holy Redeemer will be a gun-free zone This is in accordance with Diocese firearms policy. Carrying a weapon without approval from the Diocese of Fort Worth is illegal. If interested in concealed carry at our parish, we encourage you to join the Guardian Ministry and undergo training with us. Your involvement will help us maintain a secure environment for all.
