Visiting the sick is one of the Corporal Works of Mercy. Nursing Home residents need to know that their lives have value because they are loved by God. We can witness to God’s love and show people who are sick and confined to a nursing home that they are loved. “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ Matt 25:40
Holy Redeemer parishioners are invited to visit the residents at the Willow Park Rehabilitation and Care Center. Our visits are scheduled by the Care Center on the 3rd Sunday of every month at 10:00 AM for a brief church service followed by visiting with the residents in the Resident Parlor Room. The three Scripture Readings for the Sunday are proclaimed by church volunteers and several musicians provide religious music during and after the Service. All are welcome to join this opportunity to serve the sick and aged. Participants meet in the Entrance Area no latter than 9:45 AM.
If you are interested in joining us please email the Contact Info below to be included on our monthly email notification list.
We meet by 9:45 AM in the Entrance Area and move to the Resident Commons Room just before 10:00 AM. Please note that the entrance doors are locked so that the residents cannot wonder off. The code is posted by the key pad by the entrance door but not on the inside. If you correctly enter the code on the inside a small green led with lite. The code has been 2470* for some time. YOU MUST ENTER THE ACCESS CODE TO EXIT ELSE YOU SET OFF A PIERCING ALARM WHEN YOU PUSH THE DOOR TO OPEN. Volunteer readers are needed for the Sunday Readings. Usually musicians from the parish join us to help with the Service. Following the readings we visit the residents. Most participants find the program a very rewarding experience.
If you arrive late, and the group has left the Entrance Area go straight across from the Entrance door and exit into the outdoor patio area, continue straight across the patio and enter the doors at the opposite end. You will see us in the Commons Room just beyond the dining area. The leader signs everyone in as a group, "Holy Redeemer Church Service."
